Nowadays people are all talking about happiness. What is happiness? I think health is happiness. However, happiness does not mean everything, but without health everything is gone. Health is like a hollow glass ball, which will break if it falls onto the ground. What we ought to have is a leather ball which will bounce up if it falls onto the ground. Health is a one-traveling way everyone should pay serious attention to.
 
Health-preservation must start when one is around 30 years old. The first purpose of being healthy is to live long and the second is to live well.The length and quality of life depends to a great degree on one’s idea about health and his way of life. At present, people will care about his health when old. But it is too late! Health-preservation should begin at the age of 30. Many living habits are developed at a young age, for example, smoking and wine-drinking. Therefore, a good way of life should be developed in youth not at a middle age or old age.
 
1. In terms of health, you are your own boss rather than God.
Have a good breakfast, a full lunch and a little supper. However, now people just do the opposite. They eat little at breakfast, a snack at lunch and a rich meal at supper. This is the root of all diseases.
A good breakfast is very important that adds nourishment to your body, so it must be rich in nutrients. Stable food must include vegetables and fruit. A nutrient breakfast cannot be replaced by a rich lunch or expensive supper.
2. The worst habit is smoking.
A smoker will suffer from tracheitis, heart disease and finally lung cancer: the three stage of going to death.
3. Excessive nutrition is poison.
Too much nutrition will poison your body. Drink eight glasses of water in a day. Water is the base of life. Nowadays, people drink water only when  thirsty. It is absolutely wrong. Drink water actively at intervals. Never drink when feeling very thirsty.
Will eight cups of tea count? No. No tea, coffee nor beer can take the place of water. If you have to drink tea it must be light but never strong.
Do remember: water is a person’s life.
4. A man does not die because of old age or disease. He is so angry as to die.
An ancient medical book titled The Doctrine Of Emperor Huang states clearly, “Fury harms the liver, delight the heart, grief the lung, worry the spleen, and surprise and fear the kidney. All diseases result from such negative feelings.” What a good saying! A man should not be a captive of emotions but a boss of of them. A man should be in control of his emotions but not in their control. Remember you are the commander of your own feelings. This is very important.
5. Walking is a good way of doing exercise.
Anything, like eating and sleeping, has a limitation, and so does exercise. It is wrong not to take exercise, but overexercise will decrease immunity. Half to one hour of exercise is enough. The simplest way is walking. This is also the most effective and economical.
But how to do walking requires attention. Young people should walk fast to a degree of 130 paces and 120 heart beats a minute. It will take some time for you to reach the extent. A half year’s persistence will strengthen your heart and lung a great deal.
Free your hands while walking so that they can do some movements. You can even walk backwards.
Stick to your weight standard from youth. Once you get fat, it is not easy for you to lose weight. The key is to control food amount and take more walk. “A man’s death results from too much eating and too little walking.”
6. The harm of an alcoholic drink is equal to that of acute hepatitis
There are six most unhealthy living ways, of which one is smoking, and another is excessive wine drinking.
7. Inharmonious family leads to diseases.
Some expert believes 70% diseases, of which 50% is cancer, result from family problems. There are small quarrels every day and big arguments every second day. Or there is no talks between family members, which will also suffocate one. According to a certain report based upon a scientific survey, divorced people and those with their better halves dead tend to live a short life. Loving husband and wife live longer, and so do  living couples.                       
Loneliness is scarier than poverty. Loneliness causes problems with longevity, as is a universal truth.
To make a harmonious family, which is a science, one must do four things. Firstly, respect the old; secondly, educate kids well; thirdly, deal with well the relations between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law; fourthly, and also most importantly, husband and wife love each other.
To love each other, husband and wife should observe the following eight principles: mutual respect, mutual love, mutual help, mutual comfort, mutual encouragement, mutual compromise and mutual forgiveness. Everyone has his own individuality and shortcoming, so remind yourself: forgive him/her, let him/her go that way and make him/her happy.
8. To be healthy, do the following seven things every day.
First, have three meals. Second, have eight hours of sleep. Third, insist on exercising for at least half an hour. Fourth, smile and have a healthy psychology. Fifth, shit once. Sixth, keep a harmonious family. Seventh, don’t smoke nor drink excessively, and take a walk.
A healthy day leads to a lifelong health. Remember the following sentences that will help you. “Being able to eat will not result in health; leaning how to eat will; and eating improperly will cause problems.” Eating to fulfill the stomach can get rid of your hunger; eating with an appreciative attitude is enjoying your food; and eating with wisdom can preserve your health. Have an emperor’s breakfast(rich and nutrient), a minister’s lunch(enough and good) and a beggar’s supper(poor and little)”.
9. One principle to be remembered.
The food you eat should include 80% of it from plants and 20% from animals. Now we just do in a contrary way, so diseases like obesity and  gout all come.
Many people have no habit of eating fruit. Eating two to four kinds of fruit and three to five kinds of vegetables in a day helps fight cancer and protect the heart, which is a new health strategy in the 21st century. Cherish your life and develop good eating habits.
