A Report of Xinning Mount Lang Experimental School
  
At the foot of beautiful Mount Lang on the rolling Fuyi River, there is a civilian-run school of large scale and high level, with senior high graders as the majority. It has new spacious classroom  complex, beautiful comfortable schooling environment and modern teaching facilities. This is Xinning Mount Lang Experimental School.
The school was founded with a large investment by Yang Aiying and Xiao Zongming, two private enterprisers of Shaoyang City. It covers an area of 260 mu, its designed construction area being 80,000 m2 and the total investment being 100 million RMB yuan. The construction is to be finished in three stages. The first stage involved an investment of 50 million RMB yuan, constructing 83 classrooms and 20 laboratories, together with a computer room, a language room, a muti-medium hall, a drawing room and a library. At present, there are 136 full-time teachers including 4 special-class teachers, 18 senior-class teachers, 56 major teachers and 7 national or provincial advanced teachers. The school authorities and all the faculty make all efforts to build up the school. Now the school has a strong momentum of development, has opened a a new field of quality eduction, and become an example of scientific management, a place of teachers’ commitment and a school of parents’ satisfaction.
Headmaster Luo Zhenliang is a well-known headmaster and senior-class teacher in Xining County. After he assumed office, he put the school under strict administration. He brought forth new ideas to be carried out in schooling and made the school change with passing days.
First he advocated new educational concepts. He set up for the school a high standard : “fine quality, modernization, innovation and exemplification”. The school motto is:“being intelligent by understanding others, clear-sighted by knowing oneself and powerful by conquering oneself”. The school style is: “diligence, discipline, concord and elegance”. The study style is : “joyful study, frequent thinking, wide knowledge and strong ability”. The teaching style is: “commitment to task, love for students, perfection in teaching and diligence of research”. The development strategy is: “building up the school through strict management, characterization and sincerity”.
In administrating teachers, the school performs the following principles: “knowing of their conditions, understanding their thoughts, applying their ability and excavating their potentials”, and “making a stable team of teachers through cause, emotion, salary and environment”.
Since its founding, the teaching efficiency has been improving. The school always puts stress on quality education. It has conveyed a large number of fine students to colleges and universities all over the country and qualified graduates to various fields of society as good workers. The school pays attention to developing students’ special skills and abilities. It has set up clubs or associations of table tennis, basketball, field and track sports, painting, dancing and chorus for students to join. There are a great many activities for students to take part in. More than twenty students have won the first and second-class prizes in county-level, city-level and province-level competitions of Maths, English and Physics. Scores of students participated in competitions of fine arts, literature & art and sports, and won rewards. The school has made plenty of achievements, becoming an outstanding school in Hunan Province.
The school also cares about its poor students in studies and so-called problem students. The school sticks to the concept of “morality-cultivation and love for students going first, letting the campus filled with love and students grow in a family atmosphere”. The workers and teachers of the school all cares for the students and guide them in thoughts, studies, life and health. To educate problem students well, the school performs “one to one” education, namely, one teacher helping one student. In this way, the teacher can find “wonder drug” to “cure” the “disease” because he knows what the problem is in the student through close observation and heart-to-heart talks. Altogether 140 problem students, helped by their tutors, have made progress on different levels. Many have achieved a complete transformation. They are now thoroughly different from what they used to be.
“It is naturally a first-class flower, even without red or green to color it.” Mount Lang Experimental School has forged a brand. It is firmly believed that Mount Lang Experimental School will create a more glorious tomorrow with the mutual efforts of all the faculty and students.
